‘Bazaar: The Hylipol Parish Bazaar is to be held in Glasgow on the 11th, 12th, and 13th inst. … The people of the island have worked with most praiseworthy diligence and success. The ladies have woven and spun some very fine and fancy articles of clothing that will secure a very ready market … among the Glasgow Tiree people, who will be glad to possess such excellent souvenirs of the isle they love. There are some carved articles made on the island by several of the young men. This work has been introduced by the laudable exertions of Lady Victoria Campbell, and it has produced some excellent results.
