Object Type:
Summary
Sorisdale, Isle of Coll
Standing building recording and watching brief
Rebecca Shaw – Rebecca Shaw Archaeological Services
NM 27160 63200 A programme of work was undertaken, 14–15
May 2018, prior to and during the removal of a barn and house,
in advance of construction of a new house. The standing
building survey established that the two buildings date from
the mid- to late 19th century. The barn may have originally
been a winnowing barn and latterly had an entrance blocked,
and either continued as a barn or became a store. There were
no indications that the former dwelling had any other use.
